Humitification/submersible heater
    #1361723 - 03/10/03 03:59 AM (13 years, 8 months ago)

I was thinking sence i dont have one of those coolmisters, nor any other nice humidifier. Im just going to take a 1 gallon jug cut the top off stick a sumersible heater on the inside and cover the top up with some foil or platicwrap and feed a hose into my 4 gallon rummermaid fruiting chammer for when they go to fruiting and run the hose the the 1gallon jug filled with water and set the heater to 82F degree and see if that dont work. Maybe even 88F if the fruiting chammer drops down in heat because i have nothing to heat the chamber with either. Im thinking that should work for the Humidity but im not to sure about the heat i want to keep it around 74F-76F.

Put some damp perlite into your fruting chamber, or run some tubing from an aquarium pump to an airstone submerged in your gallon jug.

Dog has it right.an aquarium heater wont produce much humidity but if you run an air pump hose into the jug of water with a bubbler stone attatched that will give it air and humidity assuming you have a good seal on your set-up, terrarium etc...

Never mind i think i got it now. Im going to hook up the pump run the hose from the pump to the airstone thats setting down in the gallon jug of whatever i might use and run another hose from the humidity sorce to the fruiting chamber and make sure i have a good seal from the jug to the chamber and that should in return produce enough air and humidity for the mushies.

another prob i think i might run into in the later stages is shroom growth and them getting to tall for my chamber i think it's about 8 maybe 9 inches high if even that so what well i do besides pick the shrooms if i want a few to grow to me mature and make prints from the mushroom? ho well i keep the humidity high without some type of top on it to keep the wet moist air in the chamber? just mist with a bottle LOL i dont have a clue and also should i also add a aquarium heater to the jug of water with the bubbler stone to get the temps higher? cause i dont have any means of heating it beside that of what i just said
