(CNN) -- A student with a gun is holding an unknown number of people hostage in a classroom at Marinette High School in northeast Wisconsin, according to the Marinette County Emergency Management agency.

No injuries have been reported, and police are at the scene, the agency said in a statement.

A school administrator called police at 3:48 p.m. (4:48 p.m. ET), reporting that an armed student had gone into a classroom and taken those inside hostage.

Law enforcement urged parents who didn't know their children's whereabouts to go to the Marinette County Courthouse. The street to the high school was blocked off, according to CNN affiliate WBAY.

Marinette has about 11,400 residents, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Bordering Lake Michigan, the city is just over 50 miles north of Green Bay.

I know I shouldn't be laughing but that was hilarious.

I hope this ends well for the hostages. I don't even see the point of taking hostages, you aren't getting out of there.

Doubt they'd shoot a kid unless he started shooting first... Even then they'd probably aim outside the kill zones.

Of course they'd shoot a kid. He's got a GUN, man. See: Every 12 year old ever gunned down by police for running around with a toy gun. I'm sure you could find countless other examples too.

If the kid was smart he'd have a bound hostage protecting himself from any threat of a sniping. More controllable will the other hostages be seeing a professional situation rather than an amateur with a shaky hand.

Everytime I read the headlines for this sort of act, I can only shamefully shake my head at the human race.

Wishing the best for the hostages.

That kid needs to smoke a bowl and chill the fuck out. Or, they could blow his brains halfway across the state with a .50 cal rifle.

How about I smoke a bowl and then watch them blow his brains across the state with a .50 cal rifle?

Hoho, I say! Whenever you see them bust out the .50 caliber rifle and the milspec ViewMaster, you'd better start gift-wrapping yourself in hostages.
