OP, everything in life has an affect on us.
The most important thing to consider, is what you choose to do with it. Regardless of what your sister's motive was at that time, or your feelings on the subject now... what you CHOOSE TO DO is a far greater question than, "has it affected me" - which is undoubtedly yes.
For example: You can work on interpersonal issues, by engaging women more frequently, and build from the results of those relationships, strategically.
You are here, right now. Choose to do something with all of it that benefits you in a positive way, and never look back. Otherwise, you can simply remain at this state of introspection, and accomplish nothing necessarily positive.
Your choice. 
Also, there's a lot of people here that .. "enjoy" .. this topic. Would recommend you engage in other activities , unless you also partake in that enjoyment. Many people above are debating just that; whether it is wrong or right(rather: "not wrong"). but that is beside the point according to your most recent response. You truly have the ultimate control over what it all becomes; you simply have to choose the path you want most and allow it to become fulfilled.
