to get mushrooms to pin, you need near constant gas exchange (i recommend hooking up a aqaurium air pump), and optimum moisture on the casing.. this means watering it until just before the casing is saturated.. than the light 12h on 12h off.. give it 10-12 days see what happens.

temp is just room temp...maybe a little cooler.....no worries tho :frown: I just looked at my casings and saw green on one, n sorta on th ebottom of the other....i took the green out immediately, but im not to hopeful these'll werk

so if its contamed, what do i do with the pins? twill they still grow?

green is bad, really bad. i'd either trash them or quaranteen them well away from your shroom grow area.
the green mold WILL kill the culture but you might get a couple shrooms, which i personally would not eat.

prolly not getting enough air, green likes moist stagnant air.

for good gas exchange couldnt you just poke 2 or 3 small holes in the lid? it would keep the humididty at 70- 75 which is optimal and give gas exchange-wouldnt it?

thanks fer all the help.....i have an ecuadorian strain in jars now....hopefully this time it'll werk....gotta get an aquarium with 2 outputs...n im set right??
