Ok so basically I'm sick of hook ups and am looking for a real relationship for a change. So anyway I'm pretty good friends with this girl and I took her out on what was clearly a date. Afterwards we come back and get drunk with some of my friends. I'd been making it clear I was interested in her most of the night. There was handholding and whatnot since it was a haunted thing.
Anyway, I walk her home and we kiss finally. I was blackout but I remember it and I can't remember if I just did it or what but the feelings aren't just mine. She said today its best that it doesn't happen again and I told her I really liked her and that I was disappointed, but I'd respect that if she wanted me to back off.
Anyway, we talked about it briefly and really the only reason she doesn't wanna go out with me is because of her psycho ex. They broke up a few weeks ago (don't know why, but something happened one night from what I understand). Anyway, he's been stalking the shit out of her. He lives next door (frat house) and watches her leave everyday. She had to block his number due to getting like 50+ texts in a night. Emails, phone calls, everything. He followed us to a party one night (I was tripping so I had a good time anyway). Called her 6 times the other day with a different number. Fucking ridiculous.
She said she doesn't know how to move forward from it and I think its the only thing keeping her afraid of trying again. So what do I do? I offered to kick the shit out of him but she says she's afraid of him. I suggested a restraining order, but I don't know if she took it seriously. I don't want to waste my time chasing someone who I won't get, but I'd be willing to wait around for a little bit and just be friends, but I'm prolly gonna lose it if she ends up just dating some other guy after a few months. I fucking hate being "the friend" and I don't put myself in that position anymore.
So...advice? Things to help her out? Do I suggest just giving us a shot and seeing what happens? I'm not gonna fucking beg her to go out with me, there's too much power-imbalance in that type of relationship, but I will put myself out there if I need to.
