Got a free iPhone 3G, tried Meth for first time last night, soo NOOWW.....

I'm messing with this damn teknolijy like a crackhead.

I want to download some apps but it says i have to sign up for a iTunes account with billing information and such.  This is actually my best friend's phone "family plan" and her number that she has given to me, but its still on the same family plan, I'm just paying her the difference in the bill.

But my QUESTION isssss, will they pitch a fit and cancel our family plan if they find out that the two of us are not really related?  I'm worried about assigning a name, number, address, and ccard number to sign up for an account to be used on a phone that is under HER family plan...

Does it really matter if you're family or is it just another word for "group plans"?  I just really want to know if its going to cause some sort of rucuss if I send in my real personal information for the iTunes membership on MY phone when none of that information matches hers....

I hope some of that made sense... I'm crashin on this fuckin tweak after takin a couple mg's xanax and its just now hitting me so i'm off.  Hopefully my questionns were clear and reasonable and someone can please help me out with this?

I set up an itunes account for my iPod Touch and I'm pretty sure I didn't have to input any billing info. I just load it up with a gift card whenever I get one and am good to go.

But I did set it up quite a while ago so I might be wrong.

At any rate, the itunes account is completely separate from your phone plan, so you can set it up with all of your personal information without any problems.

If it is now your phone, and not just you having it temporarily, Jailbreak it. jailbreak it. jailbreak it. And if you want, unlock it, which would allow you to take it to any Phone Carrier that uses SIM cards (read: not Verizon)

Jailbreaking opens up the platform completely, allowing third-party software to run.

Shit, I can be out and about, whip out my iPod, and tell my computer at home that I want to download a torrent.

Yeeeah, no plans on hacking it or any of that sort of thing...  It's technically her phone under her name, as well as the family plan we are using.

So if I got an iTunes account, it would be completely separate from my iPhone bill and would not add the charges to the bill but rather charge them to my card?

AHHH!  I hate shit like this.... I wish she would get back into town so she could explain how all this is going to work!

its not like jailbreaking is that magic white pill that breaks the bonds of servitude, once broken, you pod/phone is susceptible to malicious software and virii, you are better off this way, but just be smart as to what you put on your phone. Alot of the apps you can pay a dollar for are far better then the broken ones, but I think as time goes on that will change.

Yeah, and you can also install a firewall and a lot of additional security measures from the jailbreak community only. Good luck getting that kinda of support from Apple.
