CoSM Call for Help

Figured I'd post this here and help spread the word. Anyone who has been to Alex and Allyson Grey's CoSM will realize right off the bat how ridiculous this story is, but they are in need of supporting letters so if you get the chance please send one in for them.



A lawsuit is now pending between CoSM and the Town of Wappinger, home to Alex and Allyson Grey's Chapel of Sacred Mirrors. The attorney for the town has claimed that there is no proof that CoSM property is being used "for moral or mental improvement of men, women and children."

CoSM is being charged with falsely claiming themselves as a non-profit organization that offers services and benefits to the community at whole, and the town wants to strip this from their status.

Alex and Allyson are asking for anyone who has attended a workshop, ceremony, event or volunteer program to please send them your messages expressing the merit and integrity of the community so they can be included in their response to the town attorney. If you have yet to visit CoSM, but would like to, please still take the time to write about what the artwork of CoSM has meant to you, and that you look forward the future opportunity to visit.

The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors is a home to not only the transcendental and sacred art of Alex and Allyson Grey, but a plethora of good intentions and well being directed not only to the CoSM community, but the world at large. The voice of CoSM is one of bridging the gap between the space of the sacred and spiritual, with our material world at large. It is a place where people can go to take an active role in fostering the betterment of humanity, by recognizing and celebrating the power of spirit within us all.

Please take a few moments to share your warmth and insight in defense of this inspiring community so that its positive influence may continue to touch us, and all of its kind.

OMG are you serious? First they get into that car accident and now this. They are really not having the best of times right now. I would love it if that was in my home town! Very spiritual place. His paintings are definitely spiritual to a lot of people anyways.

Don't deserve what, to be called out for getting rich pedeling new age bullshit to a buncha suckers? It's their own private art gallery, I don't see how that could possibly qualify for tax exempt status.

I'm sure it has a lot more to do with the town needing the tax dollars than a church org.  I don't know enough about CoSM to say whether they should or shouldn't be exempt, but a lot of municipalities are hurting for $.

it's more than just an art gallery dude, that's a cultural gem the town has in its midst.  In your opinion it may be bullshit but at the very least it's as legit as any religious art and deserves the non profit status imo.

Seriously tho, how much money do they make? Does it cost money to go inside? I know they make a shit load of money of the art and shirts they sell, but then churches do the same thing with crosses and bibles and other things.

The same could be said for any religion.. if you feel that strongly about it, why don't you work towards overturning tax exemption laws?

I vaguely agree (I don't really care one way or another), but good luck trying to get that changed... it would probably be more difficult than getting drugs legalized.
