Well, despite my qualms with Shamby ...

I got on as a Volunteer, so i will be there from the 2nd to the 8th or 9th.

Seems they've taken some of the veterens suggestions to heart and have instituted some minor changes, which is for the best i think. Seems they are stressing "greening" the festival, and the volunteer commitment is downright reasonable.

3x8hr shifts, early entry, no line up and meals after a shift.

I'll be directing traffic Friday morning, Saturday night, and Monday afternoon.

Totally stoked - see you guys there.

you got any inside info on what they are looking out for? i know already that 2 i.ds are recommended.

I am wondering if they will search early entry volunteers looking for booze?

I was thinking about getting 12packs of grape crush and putting palm bays in them, and taking some hard alcohol ... I am not into eating drugs for days on end, like i used to.

try getting your hands on your cars manual and look for places that have natural cavities and than just un-screw a few screws put ur liquer in and than put the few screws back in.

or ive heard some people just wrap the bottles in a sleeping bag. and yeah ive heard of people buying bottles of watter or pop or something and emptying it out and filling it up with liquer but you will have to seal it some how so it looks like it hasnt been opened.

Im pretty bummed i wont make it. I am in Nelson BC at the moment which is suuuuper close to salmo, but i have to leave back to the arizona desert on thursday. Shit sucks.
Today we walked around nelson and there are already ALOT of interesting looking characters here. Too bad i will miss it, but next year i am either going to backpack for the whole summer walking from arizona all the way up here to BC, or I am going to drive up but either way i will definately be at shambhala next year.
