i JUST resieved an email from Stauffer, Doug (NBC)

i know its rude to post an email, but this i took offence at this email.

Thank You for mentioning this.... I just got my e-mail today and had to refrain from writing back with every swear word in creation.

First of all....what kind of sources does he think he's gonna get?? A select few of the people here knew Brandon... most only posted their sympathies...

This guy is a perfect example of the media going to all lengths to get their "story".

Let me assure you that this guy is legitimate. We as a family have made the decision to appear on this show in order to increase awareness on some of the issues surrounding Brandon's death.

Whether or not any of you individually choose to talk with him is up to you. However, as I have stated previously there is no effort being made to cast the entire Shroomery in a bad light. In fact, if everyone is unwilling to talk, it actually makes the entire site look worse than the reality of the situation.

Maturity as someone noted is key. If you have no first hand knowledge of that night or if you are not officially representing the site, it may not be wise to reply.

You guys should know that:

1) I am communicating regularly with Thor and he is doing a great job with handling aspects of the media. So I wasn't trying to get anyone to talk, just simply saying don't jump to conclusions on the motivations of the show.

2) You should also know that I would not agree to participate in any program that was simply seeking to vilify you guys or get a hot quote to use out of context.

My efforts in speaking out are only about bringing something positive out of all this. Placing blame or not focusing on proactive solutions will not accomplish this and are therefore not my focus. Nor will I allow them to be the focus of any program I participate in. I know this may sound suspect, but there has been a lot of competition to get this story, and decisions have been made under certain conditions of story development.

That chat server has been taken offline indefinitely. We need to seriously consider its potential for misuse, and its future on our site. Just thought you should know the reason you can't connect. It has nothing to do with you personally.

They have relocated it to another server which I should probably not reveal here... but with that being said.. things like this happen.  I have no anger towards it.

because it's on another network, there is no official connection to the shroomery, so the administration here cannot help you if you are banned.
i would take the issue up with members via email/PM who banned you.
