ipod touch?

im in need of an mp3 player and im getting paid soon. i went to walmart to look at them and the cheapest ipod with a screen is $150! its an 8g ipod nano.  that seems like a rip off considering an 18g ipod touch is $199.

i really dont want to spend that much on an mp3 player but i dont want to get a crappy ipod for $150..

should i get an ipod touch? or do you guys have any other suggestions?

ebay/craigslist.  You can find the same crappy ipod for $75, 1st gen ipod touches for ~100-110.

i believe the ipod touch can access the internet along with a few other features.

so that right there would be worth the extra fifty bucks to me.

Get an iphone?

If you pay for phone service anyway, and you're gonna spend that much for a portable music player....free up some pocket space.  Or Android - HTC, Google phone, whatever.

All the cell phones are so fancy now, a separate music player isnt so practical these days.

I was at the pawn shop today, they had a shit load of ipod touches for under $100.

You should just get the touch. Ive had my for a couple years
and have had no problems. Used it to post on here when my last
computer broke.

Just buy stuff that has applecare on it.  Or under a year old so you can repair / replace, and buy extended care yourself. Its super cheap on ebay.  :thumbup:

i just got my mom a refurbished 5th-generation ipod for like 60$ on ebay. works great and holds lotsa music

Contrary to my old philosophy, (one device to rule them all!!!) I have found a definite need for a separate music player.  It turns out I get enough work emails through my phone that if I listen to music I have to charge it 3 times a day... (worthless)

I got an Ipod touch myself about a week ago and I love it!  The only thing I don't like about it is that Apple doesn't make them with more storage yet.. 

If it' just music playing you want.. get an ipod classic.. they go up to like 160 gig..

For a cool gadget, Ipod touch for sure!

SIDE NOTE:  Apple does announce the next generation of ipods in September.  If you aren't in that big of a rush (I was) then I would wait until then and see if somin cool comes out.  Supposedly the next wave of ipod touch's will have a camera and a few other perks..

I hate apple... but they did somin magical with ipods..

I love my ipod touch! I never let it out of my sight! I'd rather have the i phone though because of the internet anywhere, but I don't want to pay that much for the service.
