i just ordered pretty much a whole new setup, old rig has been in 2 pieces for ages now... but its winter so plenty of time for rollinggg

I've been surfing for years now and started snowboarding a year ago so the other day I decided to learn to skate as well
A friend told me about a deal which a local shop had going - entire pro setup for $250 so I waited for my next pay and got it
So far I'm hopeless, but I can't wait till I'm decent and fairly confident :smile:

Gives me something to do on days where theres no surf and get around faster than walking

Skating is the shit man. I just picked it up again last summer. I suck at it now, and don't even wear skate shoes, but it's tons of fun to just cruise around, hit a ramp, do some boardslides, whatever. I keep it pretty simple now. I'd love to buy a new complete if I had extra cash laying around. But then how would I support my weed habit?

Sounds expensive. I probably haven't bought a new complete in about 8 years and it cost around $150, but you could get a nice setup for closer to $115 without really sacrificing anything. Good to hear you picked up skating, but I really don't know what they could have charged you $250 for unless they threw in some pads or shoes or something.

Just a deck was $99, bearings ~$40, forgot the prices of the other things by themselves but it definitely worked out cheaper haha

I miss skating too but my wrists and hips certainly don't, I don't bounce like I used to... :banana:

I stick to manuals and getting from A to B, old age is a terrible thing indeed. Plus the roads/pavements/sidewalks etc are awful in the UK..

buy off the net dude or look for skate shops having sales for a deck, i got a pair of tensors for $60 aud nice hookups deck for $40 reds bearings for $15 set of toy machine wheels for $40

also cost me like $30 postage but only need bolts and grip tape and there is a 'professional setup'

used to always buy my decks on sale from skate shops with shit graphics or watevs for like half price or less, pretty pictures only last a couple of rides anyway

shit i miss skating to i use to be pretty damn good then i stopped for alittle more then a year after i finished high school. Im gonna try and start back up again but its gonna be a pain trying to get back to where i was.

Nah I sucked too. I used to do lots of hardflips and varialheels but could never land a switch flip/heel :shrug:
