Dubai world Islands

Hello peoples of the world, today I was teaching a class of kids and we were pretending to choose a location for a vacation... Dubai comes up on lonely planet's website and after discussing some of the craziest hotels ever buildt on earth I saw this:



what do you guys think of it?I was quite horrified lol

the kids thought it's awesome

dubai must be a wierd place for sure...anyone been there can tell any stories?next lesson I'd like to bring up the subject cause they seemed to like it  :shrug:

I had some friends that went there, they had an awesome time. Although I heard you will only have a good time if you have some pretty deep pockets!

Did you read the article?  They dont have that money, all that shit was bought on credit.  Dubai embraced the real estate bubble hardcore and is now paying the price.

yeah me too, gay capital of UAE! still it's a crime though :shrug:

one of the kids, age 13 said "It looks a bit like Las Vegas" refering to nightlife and entertainment

I didn't say anything because some other grammar mistake came up and I had to clarify it

but it's ironic, thinking about estate bubbles

ah I might do an economics 101 lesson with them next week

Did you read the article? They didn't pay the price, neighboring countries did and the companies that are there... Dubai is still soaking it all in
