Has ANYONE worked or been interviewed by these people? im just curious what to expect :blazed:

Nah, I haven't ever worked there but I have gotten creeped out by the occasional pretentious Starbucks 'Stepford Wife' before.

I :heart: coffee but not Starbucks, a majority of the people that go in there to order one of their gay steamed expresso milkshakes (which in my mind does NOT = coffee) so if you order a regular cup of drip-brewed it's usually evaporated down and is strong and bitter as hell.

I'll go for an iced black with an extra shot from Dunkin Donuts over a snooty Starbucks concoction any day.

Starbucks = the ignorant human virus jumping on a bandwagon of overpiced "gourmet" coffe, when all it really is, is a bunch of fuckin roasted beans that are soaked in hot water until all the essence of the bean is drained out and drinken for a a shortlived energizing effect. but the same fucking effect can be gained from the local circle k for 1 fuckin dollar. so ya get hired at starbucks for minimum wage and enjoy serving the sheeple their overpriced energy shot.

You know what - starbucks is a good employer and are implementing progressive policies including aiming to have 100% fair trade coffee by 2016.

Sure, a major corporation is inherently opposed to my fundamental belief systems - but that said, i do not think Starbucks is anything besides a yuppie hangout with great coffee and a good place for students to find work and get a decent wage.

I don't buy the 'starbucks is evil' rhetoric for a second. They are no more evil than any other corporation, and infact probably less so.

I imagine a majority of us work in ethically questionable positions, which is something to keep in mind.

I've always heard great things about starbucks from an employee-employer perspective. heard they have great benefits even for part time employees, all kinds of stuff.

they've always ranked pretty high on the list of companies to work for as far as benefits and stuff go. shit, I think they may have been rated #1 several years back.

I wasn't knocking them from a business standpoint, I have no idea of their standards and practices so there's no way I would even think to.

I was speaking from my previous experience with the business, the air of the place and the attitude of most of the assholes I've encountered there and such.

I was just trying to turn the attention back to the OP's asking for well wishes from to the ever so encouraging "you're joining the enemy" responses.
(...just clarifying...)

So much the better that they're legit from a business standpoint, having straight steady monnies coming in is always better than shady cash.

I actually like the ambiance of starbucks - although don't like the "get in and get out" approach to their stores, its not the kind of place you can kick it.

When i am in the Rural US where real coffee shops are few and far between, i jump at the chance of getting a decent starbucks coffee with brown sugar and some chill music at a safeway, or whatever.

I do believe that the demand is there for starbucks to practice green capitalism and they are doing that and it is better than nothing - sort of the way of the world, and certainly leading by example.

There's alot of naysayer who simply don't know what they're talking about.

Anyways - totally - goodluck OP.
