I do not have texting on my cellphone.
I do not want texting on my cellphone.
I dont do texting.
If you try to send me one I cant receive it and I'll be keeping it that way.

I don't, never have, never will. I barely use my cell phone. On the funny/stupid side, last week I saw a older guy (maybe 60?) driving down the FDR (busy major highway in NYC)... left hand had his cell to his ear, right hand was texting away. His right hand was on the steering wheel, at least . . . :peace:

Hey Im young and I dont text. Whenever I see someone whose on their phone texting/twittering/whateverthefucktheycallit going at that shit nearly 24-7 I call them "phonies".
It's like they cant just hang out with the people they are with and their mind is always somewhere else. It's horribly obnoxious and rude to be out with someone at a restaurant or a bar and just be texting away.

texting is convenient when you're just saying one thing and don't need a whole conversation. whole sms conversations is a bit silly. but it's got its place.

completely avoiding it just for the sake of being stubborn is just as silly.

i live in a town where EVERYONE has one cent texting.
kills me.

to be fair, things aren't quite so bad as they once were. most people now understand that it's rude to respond to a text message when they're mid-sentence.

I don't even have a phone, but I agree that texting is lame. It is effective for short messages, but people I know have 30min-1hr testing conversations.

If someone starts texting in the middle of a conversation, I just leave. It solves them having to have a split focus.

It's thinking like this and from the OP that leave people behind in society. People need to adapt to change and those who resist face disadvantages.

One could have said the same thing about telephones when they were invented.

Text messaging is a handy tool. I used it at my old work to send details of appointments to customers and it has other uses. My mate's server is setup to send him a text message if someone attempts to hack into it.

The manners that people have when using this technology, however, can be irritating. Like those who text at the dinner table and those who answer their phones during the movies. This point I can understand.
