now i just finished filling out some survey on how the media influences young people's views on illegal drugs. at the end it asked if we would like to leave any comments. i left a fairly long one;
Most of these articles, such as the pma one, illustrate the grave dangers of the worst drug on the planet; prohibition. Whose fault is it if there is paramethoxyamphetamine in pills? What, are they trying to illustrate MDMA as a dangerous drug? The only reason PMA is in these pills is because of PROHIBITION! Just think, how much money is wasted on the war on drugs every single year? Just think... how many homeless people could that money feed? How much safer would the world be? Less gangs, crime, hostility & of course no meaningless destruction of young people's lives with drug charges, which would render them almost unemployable. All because they use a substance that the government does not like. South Africa abolished apartheid after 80 years. Hopefully another similar atrocity on people known as the war on drugs will end soon.
At least in 5-10 years cannabis will no longer be illegal in Australia. Soon, more people will be using cannabis than will be using cigarettes. What do fines, criminal convictions & diversion programs do apart from waste tax-payer's money? NOTHING! Cannabis is an exceedingly safe drug in comparison to alcohol & tobacco, causes zero violence, & does a lot less harm to its users than alcohol and tobacco.
we also need to come clean with the wonderful value of certain groups of chemicals that hold great value in the field of consciousness expansion & even psychiatric medicine, that we are deprived of due to ignorance, xenophobia & general FEAR of a mental universe that most not only don’t even accept exists, most are even appalled at the notion of such a statement. I would appreciate it greatly if my words are taken with some kind of understanding.
chemicals such as psilocybin/psilocin, (4-Hydroxy-NN-Dimethyltryptamine, otherwise known as "magic mushrooms"), LSD-25, (D-Lysergic Acid Diethylamide, otherwise known as "acid", "Lucy", "trips", etc) Mescaline, (otherwise known as 3,4,5-Trimethoxy-Phenethylamine) NN-Dimethyltryptamine, (commonly known as DMT) hold great value in the fields I mentioned above. if used with care, respect & in the right set and setting, these are truly extremely valuable tools in directing human life in the right direction, away from violence, destructiveness, ignorance, predjucism, xenophobia, racism, hate, narrow-mindedness & into the field of peace, love, happiness, understanding of yourself, others, connection with others, the world & so much more.
Mind you, for those of you that have not used psychedelics in the past, you will find a lot of this difficult to understand, quite possibly what you might call "outrageous", or "ridiculous." Now call me crazy if you will, but in 20,000 years nobody has discovered a true reason for the purpose or even existence of psilocin & psilocybin in certain species of mushrooms. I honestly believe that they are there for humans to use. Why else would a chemical that is designed to fit into a receptor in the human brain exist? I don’t know about anyone else, but I see a strong connection between psilocybin & HUMANS.
Being in a state of mushroom induced "egolessness" has taught me of things that can only be explained as infinite, but with an unexplainable sub-element I could only describe as "all". Beyond infinite. the feeling of of an extremely strong emotional bond with every single life-form on the planet accompanied by a sense of this being RIGHT! this feeling is right. so right. this is how humans are supposed to feel. This is accompanied by a feeling of harmonious crying/feeling/loving with every single form of life in the multiverse. A sense that everybody is right (regarding beliefs of one form or another, e.g. religion, politics, law) and the whole point is to accept other people views, and not to demonize things just because you don’t like them & live in a happy world with freedom of speech and belief. Some would call such a state "enlightenment."
Now like any mystical experience, belief or opinion, such as the bible, it is to be taken metaphorically for what it is, not laughed at because it sounds ridiculous. Accept what everyone believes. The openness and awareness of psychedelics will push humanity in the right direction. Our society is going the wrong way in the field of spirituality. We can never have enough legitimate paths towards truth. We never will.
