They're Doing the Luge 24 hours after a Guy Just Died

Lugers complained about the track before the death.  And all the IOC did was put some pads on the steel bars and shorten the track to the women's track.  Still, people are coming in the finish line at 88-90 MPH.

A pad going 90 to 0 in a split second will not made a difference.

We're so gonna see more severe injuries or a death on the Luge.

yeah well maybe these guys and gals should improve their luging?

i realize that this sport is dangerous but if you want your face on a box of Kazakhstani Wheaties you best suck it up and go for the gold.

You can find the video, just look up luge accident. 90 to 0 in a split second, the only thing stopping him was a freaking steel I beam. When you see the video I can't understand why just coming out of that turn they didn't bank it more, it looked like an accident waiting to happen. The sound of his head hitting was sickening its self.

yeah, I hear that its the most dangerous luging course ever. they put padded guard rails up post accident. my bet is that this athlete's family gets paid out lawsuit style.

I love how the IOC says it was human error and not their fault at all.

the law has never seen a waiver it really likes. i've seen the organizers of bicycle race events
get sued when a cyclist, for whatever reason, hits a car crossing the racecourse.
