When you consider the fact that the Colts went 4-0 one year and the fact that it is impossible to lose more than one postseason game in any given season, the numbers are at this point embarrassing.

Ya know, that point about only being able to get one loss per year is illuminating.  In 12 years of playing pro football, Manning has gotten to the playoffs 10 times.  They're like the Yankees that way.

Nobody cares about just "getting to the playoffs" if you prematurely bust yer nut and never bring home a championship to show for it.  Again, I don't think this has anything to do with Manning, this has to do with the Colts.  Manning is good, and if he had a better team behind him, he would have 3 Lombardi Trophies.

I don't get why people talk about him like "Manning" and "the Colts" are interchangeable.  There is a whole team that consistently makes it to the playoffs only to lose before the big game.  Lets talk about why the Colts can't pull it off, because trust me, they do have problems, but Manning ain't one of em.

That's why I said "they're" and not just Manning.  They get credit for drafting him, though.  They've done an excellent job in the last decade or so.  It's undeniable.  And they've won about the number of titles you would expect for getting in that often.  One.

No, no.  LS. Its a fact that if you disregard that Super Bowl run, you are left with a 5-9 record.  9-4 = 5.  That's not an opinion.  It's mathematics. 

You can say that calling it a fluke is my opinion.  But then, he hasn't been able to come close to repeating that performance at any other point in his 11 year career, has he?  5-9, otherwise says,  "Not even close."

It says there's been a hell of a lot more one-and-done than anything else.

If the Super Bowl year was not a fluke, we'll see it again.  I'm really not holding my breath on it. 

If you want to take Favre's super bowl year out of the equation it leaves Brett with a 9-10 record in postseason play.

Is 9-10 a better record than 5-9?  Again, not even close.
