Short Films * 1
    #11807985 -

just wanted to post a bunch of short films ive seen and really liked. these came up in the thread on The Pub last night but i wanted to put them in a more appropriate place. hopefully more people can see them too..

Validation
i really liked this one about a guy who loves to be happy and to make others smile.

Reach
similar to a pixar short.

The Number to Heaven
this is probably the strangest 36 seconds on the internet. it was used as a promo for the Fantastic Fest film festival in Austin, TX 2009.

Skhizein
beautiful animation. a guy is hit by a meteorite and now lives life exactly 91cm to his left.
http://vimeo.com/6913172

Alma
like a creepy pixar short
http://www.vimeo.com/4749536

The Horribly Slow Murderer with the Extremely Inefficient Weapon
exactly what the title says..

Alarm
about the struggle to wake up in the morning.

Marry Me
Little girl likes little boy. Little boy likes BMX bike. Something has to give..

A Short Love Story In Stop Motion
sweet. beautiful animation.
http://vimeo.com/877053

Vincent by Tim Burton
an early stop motion animated short from Tim Burton.

9 and District 9, both releassed this past summer, were based on short films, 9 and Alive in Joburg. here they are for anyone who hasnt seen them:

9

Alive in Joburg

just saw another short i really liked..

Connected.

its a pretty simple futuristic sci-fi western but i think it could easily be pushed to a feature film.

check it out here:

i dont normally like to bump old threads but this is def the best place for this.

the following film was part of a contest. the filmmakers could do whatever they wanted as long as they had ONLY the following dialog:

Quote:
What is that?
It’s a unicorn.
Never seen one up close before.
Beautiful.
Get away, Get away
I'm sorry

This is Carl Erik Rinsch's entry and it is fucking AWESOME.

watch this in fullscreen mode. a small little window doesnt do it justice.

The Gift

soon after the release of this short, a bidding war broke out between a bunch of Hollywood studios to develop this into a feature length film.
