My evening with a squirrel
    #11849596 -

So, this morning I was asleep on my floor; because i sleep on the floor (it helps my back stay in align, i find it much more comfortable than beds). I woke up to what I think at the time is a spider bite; although this would've been a BIG spider. I hop up and turn the light on and try to find the little culprit to make sure I wasn't about to die of a brown recluse bite or something. But I never found anything.

Earlier in the evening I see something gray flash by my guitar and banjo cases and realized I was not alone in my room. But I still wasn't aware it was a squirrel. Until it kept peaking out from underneath my bookshelf.

These little guys are hard to catch.
:smilingpuppy:

It made me remember that we're all trying to escape something we feel trapped in. In the end, we all just wanna be free, right?
:smileyfrog:

yep. i woke up right away. i just knew it was a spider, cause it really kinda stung. and it looked like two fang marks; only one of which broke the skin a little.

catching it was hilarious. poor guy was terrified though.

From the CDC...

"Small rodents (such as squirrels, rats, mice, hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbils, and chipmunks,) and lagomorphs (such as rabbits and hares) are almost never found to be infected with rabies and have not been known to cause rabies among humans in the United States. Bites by these animals are usually not considered a risk of rabies unless the animal was sick or behaving in any unusual manner and rabies is widespread in your area."

Yeah, the fact that he was in your room playing your banjo is pretty usual behavior for most squirrels.
