Steelers fan here but you're probably right.  My guess is we'll have the lead 21-3 at the half and give up 27 unanswered in the 4th.

I wouldn't count on Cincy doing much more to help them next week, either.  Jets are getting some pretty good breaks playing two teams with nothing to play for.  Further fucking that scenario is that the Jets will get Cincy in the first round.  You think they're going to show them anything at all?  8 men in the box for the Jets and cram the run.  No need to worry about anything fancy.

Yeah, things are looking pretty good for the Jets right now because of all the reasons you mention.  Around here all the radio guys are talking about how there is no difference between 3rd and 4th seed so even if NE loses, they think the Bengals will still not play all out.  This is nto to dispute your point.  If the Jets win, the Bengals keep 4 seed and Jets get 5, even if the Pats lose.

However, if the Pats do lose, I would not be surprised to see the Bengals try to move up.  The argument on the radio here is that there is no difference between 3 and 4 but I disagree.  One major contingency is what happens if 3-4 both advance to the championship?  Sure it is not likely but to me its a contingency worthy of pursuing because how hard do you kick yourself if it works out that way?  I mean, just think of it from a revenue standpoint for the owner.  Its an opportunity to sell tickets to one more playoff game. 

For this reason I fully expect the Pats to go balls to the wall against Houston and depending on that outcome we'll see what the Bengals do.  This will probably all prove moot anyway.
