need help on my RESEARCH PAPER about fractals

I need to write a 5 page research paper in less than 5 hours and I need some help.

I will give 5 shromes to every person in here that explains something interesting/gives an interesting fact about a fractal that I could use in a research paper, that has not been previously posted in this thread.
you could say anything from from the origins of its discovery to the relevance of it in today's society to what further research into it may offer to the advancement of civilization as we know it etc.
basically anything relevant. try not to plagiarize directly/copy something exactly from an internet source.
no copy/pasta etc.

In Nature Fractals can be found in clouds, mountain ranges, lightning, river networks, cauliflower or broccoli, ferns and trees, snow flakes, crystals.

Why don't you actually research the topic instead of depending on an internet forum for help?  I am sure a simple google search would result in a plethora of resources that you could actually cite instead of citing users on the shroomery.

fractal computer programs have glitches, some of the images produced by computer programs can be considered Software Glitch Treasures, but once this happens the image is usually no longer a true fractal.

Yea dude... no kidding... I'm just taking shit from Wikipedia and throwing it into my own words.

I have 4 other (separate) essays to write by tomorrow, on top of this. and I'm kind of still working on them at the moment.
so I'll take any help possible in the mean time, while I'm working on these, if that's alright with you :awesome:

The conceptual aspect of fractals is fucking brilliantly mind-blowing.
To think that naturally we exist in a Universe of separate levels of consciousness is incredible; some physicists see atoms as conscious entities (a completely other discussion in itself)! From atoms to supernovas, the universe is just a huge giant fractal. What is beyond the Universe? Alternate realities? Parallel universes? 12 dimensions? We may never know.

that's cool.
I like putting multiple sides of an argument into my essays to make it seem unclear as to what side I stand at.
this isn't really that kind of, though.
still useful though thanks.

I still think fractals could have some certain deeper meaning in reality that we haven't discovered. I don't really think fractals should be looked at from only one point of view such as paint splashing on a paper. that's like trying to study "time" by looking at a photograph.

although the significance of fractals could also be just a man-made concept like time itself. :wink:

2 Interesting facts

1: They use fractal patterns in cell phone antennas to get good reception in such a small place.

2: Calculating the distance or circumference of a shoreline or an island was always notably difficult and very error prone in the old days.  Using fractal geometry they can calculate them with a much higher degree of certainty now.
