question about Tetris

I never really played tetris, but yesterday I found it in the forum's Arcade and tried it out. I'm liking it too:thumbup:

What came to my attention is that as long as you place the blocks on the best places, you seem to get rewarded by blocks that also it in the structure you created. Is this the case? Or does it just seem that way, and when you play well that you can always fit a block in?

I think different versions of Tetris use different algorithms to determine the "randomness" of block appearance. I have played some versions where the game seemingly hands you "best case scenario" blocks one after another, and other versions, every block is a "worst case scenario" block. I think it all depends on that particular coding of the game, but I have noticed this phenomenon before.

interesting. I wondered because I never played tetrs, so now I know they're not all the same.
I kinda like this version, seeming to reward good placements. I get to level 8 and the the speed kills me
