I really liked when he told the country, "Our unemployment will not go above 8%."  Whoops.  And before you blame Bush's administration for the housing debacle, you should understand the reason banks were allowed to offer the adjustable rate mortgages.  Under the Clinton administration lending laws were changed that allowed banks to increase the number of people they lend to and decrease the requirements and regulation surrounding reporting.  Thus banks began targeting new groups for houses, groups that could not afford the payments once the rate adjusted.  Furthermore, liberal groups protested banks lending practices saying they weren't giving minorities and lesser classed people a fair shake.  You know why they weren't?  B/c THEY COULDN'T AFFORD THE LOANS!  But liberals made such a fuss about it banks were forced into making risky loans, which SURPRISE were defaulted on.

Still doesn't explain why you'd use polls to "add" to your argument, when in fact, it retracted substantially from it.

I agree with Gastro, your initial posts seem rather educated, till you spiral downwards in efforts to save face.

So you think there are unbiased sources in the mainstream media? Which ones?

And you think we should be happy that Obama's thowing money around like a rapper that just hit it big?  He ran on the platform that Democrats these days are more fiscally conservative than Repubs... then just starts giving money away to banks and the auto industry for having poor business models. If they can't run a business, let it fall, don't waste money propping it up artificially.

You're putting words into my mouth. None of the media is reliable, therefore it should not be used as evidence to any argument, like your man Pris attempted to do with his posting of polls back on page 5.

Instead of arguing pointlessly, we are getting nowhere in my view, I'm going to make something  constructive of my night- and work on my flashcards for school. Take care.

do you have some proof of this? cause i'm in school right now and don't see any evidence whatsoever that students are less capable of thinking critically, or that any faculty is spreading propaganda of any kind.

if you think obama is any more socialist than ronald reagan or dwight eisenhower, you have failed miserably at knowing our history.

You're actually very right on this. The main stream media is a bunch of non-credible crooks.

Anyway, fivethirtyeight called the presidential election withing single diget electoral votes, and it takes into account all the polls. Nate does formulate opinions and applies them to the statistics but he's actually pretty sharp and about as unbiased as they come. Usually it helps wade through the bullshit inherent in all polls. Like Rasmussan.
