contaminated texas lc
    #11324162 -

really like texas just because it fruits like crazy. i have a contaminated lc. that looks like bacteria and i know for sure trich now i lost 47 jars.  i know, i know. why did i do a test jar.

so my question is. if a lc is contaminated is it possible to save the culture by agar?

:pm: me if you have questions about lasers

Although i may advise others in a general way regarding all types of mushroom grows, and may even post question from other forums about growing "active" mushrooms, i only grow non-"active" mushrooms and edibles.

you might be able to save it inoculate a plate and try myc looks different than contaim you might be able to get some clean myc.  This is why you always shoot a test jar always

Slightly possible to save it. If you are lucky and skilled, you might be able to tease out some pure myc from the garbage.
Prolly not, though.

ya i did do a test jar. it was a brf jar.  then  i slurried it and poured to grain that is when the trich came. so im thinking it was either for my filter or i had a hidden contaminate in the jar that i didnt see.  ive been doing the brf slurry for 2 years now with only 53 contaminated jars with in 2 years. to me 53 is rather low since before that i had them a lot all the time. keep in mind 48 of them just happened these last 2 months.

yes it is easier to start over but what he has in the LC might be an isolate and that is why he doesn't want to go through all that work to get again. i am assuming it is his last though becuse i have sent him a TX and so has truskool
