global warming is definitely real. the major huge corporations don't really play this up in the media because they support the destruction of Earth.

The idea that carbon dioxide is a pollutant is essentially a way of saying that humanity is a disease and should be depopulated.

I caught a brief glimpse of a show tonight about scientists trying to stem the tide of global warming by making special lenses that would sit outside earths orbit so the heat of the sunlight coming through them would be lessened.

It's only in an experimental stage still. I'm sure it's quite an undertaking.

I was taught (way back in the 70s) that the earth was moving out of an ice age, into a warmer period. We have known about these climate changes for a long time. So it is a solid fact that the earth is warming. What we don't know is weather or not human activity has anything to do with it.

I'm sure we have helped, but I seriously doubt that we have done anything to the planet that it can't recover from.

It's fucking bullshit.  Climate change is affected by sunspot activity.

You can call the overpopulation and rapid destruction of natural resources of the earth what you want.

So are you trying to claim that CO2 can't build up in excess??

While I believe that sunspot activity does play a role, it's not the main cause in the increase of global temps.

Still, the hype about the affects of global warming are just stupid.

I mean most organisms need oxygen to survive, but it's is also one of the most corrosive elements on the planet as well.  Things can be both good and bad depending on the concentration levels that they are at.

Seriously, get some higher education.

i love how certain everyone seems to be that they are correct. regardless of the ultimate causes of climate change, rising sea levels in bangladesh have already displaced millions, and its only just beginning. if you're still debating these things, you are too far behind to be of any use to humanity. focus on solutions or gtfo.

well, global warming is happening on mars too. and I don't think there are any fossil fuels or air conditioners there. but I'm no astrologist.

Was trying to say humans can be very destructive not necessarily re: CO2 though. I guess I didn't make much sense. I had just so much to say about that statement I reckon.

Global warming is a fact. What people don't understand is that the adverage temperature has risen and there is no reputable scientist who really questions that. People question the implication.

That is my take.

global cooling was a scientific fact in the 70's, there were articles,
news stories and all kinds of other things panicking people about the
coming ice age

See the establishment wants it to seem as if humans are the real source of global warming. This justifies the need of a regulatory system and global bank where carbon taxes are paid to. Simply a means of control and power over the population.

unfortunately, science can get it wrong. there was a small ice age a couple hundred years ago, so it wasn't unprecedented. the difference now is that people are already suffering from rising sea levels, and politics don't mean jack shit. so you can continue to defy the mainstream to appear cool, or you can help figure out how the world is going to handle the millions of refugees from coastal areas in the coming years.

Global warming is a fact, that cannot be disputed. However as to whether or not it's due to human activity or just a part of the Earth's natural cooling/warming cycles remains in question, at least in my mind.

This September was the second hottest on record since 1880, followed by 2005.
