For someone so caring and helpful, and for someone who doesn't want to argue, you sure love to make assumptions about people, and insult them.



At least if I ever decide to completely give up in life, there will be suckers like you around to hook it up with free cash and food.  Hell apparently I just need a sob story and a picture of some kids to prove to you I need the money.



I help people all the time.......people that help me.......people that have established a trustworthy relationship with me WITHOUT needing help.  If half of those bums wouldve done anything in their life worth doing they would have someone to turn to.  The only excuse for no one to turn to for help is YOU.  My friends and my family will be there for me, and I, for them.  I will not fund some high school drop outs cigarette fund though, regardless of if he has kids or not.

New contender:

I work in medicine. Soeone with IV now has 40+ years expected to live, easily... but we will not see a cure of a reliable vaccine for a long time (20 years plus, if ever) despite all the cash spent, new treatments yes, but they aren't cures.

So anyway this person probably isn't going to die of AIDS anytime soon... but I still wouldn't date them. It sounds harsh to say damaged good,s but it is the case. I've made stupid mistakes, as have we all, but I've been lucky enough to avoid any consequences that have been that damaging (a few broken bones, near misses with broken condoms, etc)

Does this make me less of a person or souless? Maybe, but I've learnt the hard way that your health is important, and you are fickle, you fall in love you fall out of love, at least this way you still are intact for whatever life throws at you. Mentally having HIV would be too hard for me. I know it sucks for this guy, but staying clear I think is the best option (you can still be a friend, just don't get closer!)

As for the bickering, it is true that most (not all, but most) of the peopel in the west with HIV have got it through being irresponsible / really fucking unlucky. It sucks more though for those who got it in the 70s/80s from blood transfusions (many got Hep C too!) or gay guys who got it before anyone really knew what it was (though there aren't many of them left now!)
