Canada Border Services Agency officers with the Calgary Commercial Operations Office have made a record bust of opium poppy pods.
On two separate occasions, more than 7200 kilos were seized worth an estimated $14.5 million on the street.

The first bust happened September 22nd, when officers found more than 12 skids of dried poppy pods, valued at more than $5 million.
The next day,officers became suspicious when a second commercial container declared 'dried flowers' awaiting clearance for entry into Canada.

26 skids of poppy pods were found worth more than $9 million.
Typically, opium poppy pods are crushed into a powder form and used to make heroin.

jesus christ journalists are stupid. they don't use poppy PODS to make heroin, but the latex that poppy pods excrete when sliced.

it is possible to make heroine from pods though. maybe thats not what they were for but it's possible
