Any opiate type properties in Panaeolus antillarum
    #11112911 -

Yo! We found a bunch of Panaeolus antillarum yesterday and posted here only to be disappointed when we found out what they were. A few of them looked like Panaeolus cyanescens and since I researched Panaeolus extensively last night I figured it wouldn't hurt to eat a few caps since there are no poisonous Panaeolus. So we did.

We didn't trip at all but we both felt this warm fuzzy and happy feeling, kind of like a mild opiate. Touching and scratching felt really good, skin felt softer, kind of like the beginning of an X trip and.. I dunno, it just felt warm and fuzzy. We both had some unusual and vivid dreams as well.

I was wondering if there is anything in Panaeolus antillarum that would cause such feelings? Or was this completely psycho semantic?

There is no known psychoactive substance in Panaeolus antillarum.

I'm not denying you had the experience you described, though.

Are you sure it was not just psilocin/psilocybin? This species isn't supposed to be active but that seems more likely than an opiate. Minus the itchiness psychedelics give me a very similar warm glowing type of feeling.

Interesting. Maybe some sort of empathogen in the family? Somebody should grow these and experiment more.

Interesting to read your post.
I did the same thing as you, sometime ago. I identified the mushrooms here on the forum as Panaeolus Antillarum and that they were non active.

I decided to eat them anyways, since they were fine to ingest though not recommended. I had the same experience as you did. I definitely was under the influence of some sort of psychoactive substance. Since I was alone in my room the trip took me to my bed and contemplate my thoughts and enjoy music. Was a very soft experience.

Thanks for the post!

Either just placebo (which is way stronger then you think) or the same way folks say they trip off pan foes.

I once thought I found a bunch of san pedro wildly near where I grow, and decided to cut a few feet and eat it, there was sooo many and not on anybodys property (thats not cool).  I brewed it, and ate the goo.  I thought I was very mildly tripping, felt an electric buzz, and went for a walk that definitely felt mildly psychedelic as if something was going on.  Posted pictures, folks said thats not san pedro, its another cactus, totally inactive.

Its crazy.
