True that...whoever meets the Phils has it rough since they seem to be out of their recent offensive rut. They shut down Pujlos..they have a losing record against 3 teams..3..braves(not making the playoffs) houston(not making the playoffs) and the dodgers(who we went 3-4 with)...the phillies-angels world series with the phils repeating

Angels LOL.  Not happening.  In fact, I see them out Round 1.  Getting to play so many games in the weak West inflates their record so they will get to lose to the Red Sox with home advantage.  Too bad.  I would have liked to see the Red Sox, which I despise, knocked out as early as humanly possible but that will be for the Yankees to do themselves in the ALCS.

Given that the Yanks missed the playoffs completely last yr, didn't make it past the ALDS in 05, 06 or 07, and lost in the worst manner possible in the ALCS to the Red Sox in 2004, I wouldn't be so confident.

CC and Tex certainly made the Yankees a hell of a lot better.  However, it takes more than 1, 2, or even 3 great players to win.  Picking up Arod was supposed to propel the Yankees back to the dynasty they once were, right??  We've all seen how badly he chokes in October.  I can only hope that CC and Tex follow suit :smile:  I do think that the Yankees have a better team than the Red Sox this year, but we'll have to see how it pans out in the post season.

The Yanks were tied for the "best record in baseball" to end 2006, and got knocked out by the friggin Tigers in the ALDS.  Regular season numbers don't mean shit in October, and since my hometown "egg suckers" have 2 rings in 5 years, and your Yanks haven't won since 2000, I think everyone from NY sounds just a bit too overconfident. :shrug:

That's really true.

Almost more than any other sport the MLB playoffs are a total crapshoot.

Anyone who gets in has a realistic shot to win.

The "most talented" is not guaranteed, or even can be reasonably expected, to win anything.

Your eggsuckers also have two rings in 90 years.  I am confident that the Yankees will end the season with the best record in baseball and have home field advantage throughout the post season.  I am well aware of the dangers of the baseball playoffs, as are you.  After all, your homos lost to the frigging Rays last year.
