Yea they def aren't look at erowids page. It says every part of the poppy plant is illegal to possess except poppy seeds.

If you take the seeds out and allow for 5cm stems to be on the pods, I wouldnt pay over $25 for a pound of pods, net use weight.
And I have paid less.

well dried ones sold for ornamental purposes aren't enforced but fresh ones would be.

i went into a local pharmacy last year and spoted like 500 HUGE pods.... it was wicked... i must have bough 5 dozen... it was a good summer

But it cant be Too illegal if u can buy them in stores...

Alright I just ordered some I've never done a poppy tea I'm probably gonna forget I ordered em over the holiday weekend it will be a nice surprise.

Poppies are in a grey area of the law. You can have poppy pods for ornamental purposes legally, but for ingestion it is considered a shedule 2 substance (USA) because of the morphine content. You also will probably never be hassled for growing them either unless you have clearly laced them or have an ungodly ammount of area used for growing them. Just take a look around you, most elderly folks you find have grown poppies at least once, they're indeed a pretty flower. I've even had a COP ask me how I grew mine because she was jelous of my results. :smile:

If you use pods, don't get caught consuming them and don't leave a myriad of sliced pods in your yard and you should have no problem at all.
