I agree. This is one issue I refuse to side with the other mods on. 

He wasn't malicious. He was annoying, and only to some people. Most people didn't mind him. In fact, it seems the large majority of people liked him.

There's a few people I just can't fucking stand on here, so I nignore them and let the other mods monitor their posts. Hint hint. :strokebeard:

I quit taking bans seriously at the Shroomery when they returned Coaster from his perma-ban.  Lots of credibility got lost with me when that happened.  He'll be back again I have no doubt.

It really depends on the situation and the severity of what they did to get banned. :shrug:

Yeah, but Coasters ban sent a powerful message to others, and it being lifted spoke even more.  There is no credibility in the banning system anymore.

Coaster was never used to make a statement.  He earned every ban he ever got.  If anything he was given more leniency then others because of his popularity.  But because he has been so prominent at the Shroomery his banning just sent the message that breaking the rules will not be tolerated no matter who you are.  Then, his unbanning sent an even more powerful message that the system was bullshit.

Well my attitude is towards that is that he is who he is, and after all it is a forum full of sometimes obnoxious drug addicts - personally he didn't bother me, and I don't know much about his bans, so I can't comment on that, but I enjoyed almost all of his posts.

I think this is more of an issue concerning
"The dividend of the community is related to the available aesthetic space on the front page of a bulletin board"
Rather than content.

We are very free here with content. I have made some STUPID posts
(on purpose, mind you) suffering no penalties...besides well deserved mockery.

However, I think being polite about how may threads you have on front page is key, in THIS forum.
