It is fairly common, but I have never noticed them in my backyard before.

me and psychonaught or however the fuck you spell his name foudn some of those in the same area as the Pelliculosa.. (look in Van Isle Pelliculosa Pics) or watever the heck it was..

OOOoh, I live in the lower mainland and I found those one day, I was so super excited, but the complete lack of brusing was my reality check.

Your post makes me kind of scratch my head - where I was thinking I could look for ps. pelliculosa is where I found the stropharia, I think its maybe worth a peek.

I have seen those growing side by side with ps cyanescens as well, they grow very well on woodchips. Nice picture workman, i remember waaay back when (back when i was young mycopup) i saw those and thought they were cubensis.

i find stropharia mushrooms in general to be verry atractive. those are beautiful pictures.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

Nice Pics man! I was up in Olympia Wa. today and saw approx. 25lbs of those growing in some nice archs. Did not print them but thought they might have been in the Hygrophorus family, The slimy cap thru me off. Wish I had my camera with me. Also a BIG bunch of old soggy chantrells. I will be keeping an eye on that spot in the spring:)
