Stropharia ambigua collections needed
    #18637153 - 07/31/13 02:07 AM (10 years, 6 months ago)

Hi -

I need a collection of Stropharia ambigua for scientific study.

If anyone has some dried S. ambigua, and are willing to mail it to Czechoslovakia, please PM me.  It might be a Leratiomyces, and if so we will write a paper about that and you will be famous.

Thanks!

-Alan

I would just like to be pedantic for a moment and say that Czechoslovakia stopped existing 20 years ago. I'd guess if you can keep current with constant name changing in the mushroom world, countries should be a breeze.

What d'ya mean it might be a Leratiomyces?!

wtf taxonomy?! this is OUTRAGEOUS!

Who's been naming these things for that past 500m years?!

I say we stick with regular, good ol' fashion, call-it-like-ya-see-it taxonomy,
like "the polk-a-dot cap", "little brown liver melter", or "the red tree ear"

eh? eh? yeah, you know I'm right

...and what's with "fistula hepatica"? Didn't I date her my sophomore year of college? BAM!
