Xyrem legal GHB

Okay,GHB is a schedule I under the FDA Controlled Substance Act...Xyrem is a schedule III meaning its legal to posses with a valid prescription.WTF
Our government is fucked up more than I thought...Xyrem is sold as sodium oxybate being the chemical or "generic" name,but it is the same exact drug as GHB and its legal with a doctors script,but its also a schedule I meaning you CAN NOT posses it,meaning its totally illegal,no doctor can even prescribe it...
Well imo this just proves that money makes the world go round'.I mean you know the pharmaceutical company said alright us gov't we will give you such and such amount of dollars if you let us market this drug.
Anyways,Im sleepy,just wanted to get your opinions on this topic!

GHB has medical uses too, hence it is prescribed.

It should be schedule 2, not 1, to make any sense.

Marijuana, same story now its a prescription drug.  Stick to your definitions DEA!

ahh but the key term in schedule 1 is that it has to be recognized by "the united states" as having medical value,
they can deny it all they want
even if all 50 states allow medical :vaped:

I don't think GHB should even be scheduled.

It is structurally quite different than most drugs.

It actually falls within the definition of a food supplement.

It is totally non-toxic and it is a safer sleep aid than even OTC sleeping pills.

GHB is present in every cell in the human body.

If they can outlaw this stuff (which they have),

they can outlaw vitamins.  :nonono:

Well no drug should be scheduled but you take GHB for far more harmless than it really is. A slight overdose can knock you unconscious. It can give an addiction that is up there in severity with barbiturates and alcohol.

I experimented with GHB but quit it after it gave me substantial heart rhythm disturbances at the peak when I binged a little.

Yeah, I've seen people abuse it and I know it can get ugly.

I knew this chick who never really slept, she just G'd out every night.

She would wake up with the shakes and her skin would be cold to the touch.

When she drank a dose, you could feel her hands warm up within the minute.

I never understood how someone could get so dependant on G.

It's not really addictive in the same way opiates are.

GHB may induce unconsciousness, but it doesn't kill any brain cells, unlike alcohol.

I've seen folks with alcohol DT's too.

I was in jail with a dude that couldn't even carry his lunch tray.

He went walking with it, just shaking and twitching.

He spilt his slaw dogs across the cell, fell, and hit his head on the toilet.

Alcohol is way nastier than GHB.

I saw a report where a guy consumed 15 tbs of pure GHB.

He slept for a day and was fine within hours after waking up.

GHB is physically addictive and the withdrawals are potentialy LETHAL!


That being said.  I fucking love GHB and use it once a week on average.  It MUST be treated with a lot of respect.  To treat it as a safe drug is a potentially fatal decision.

I guess it's really a subjective thing.

I have a pretty addictive personality,

but I just couldn't see myself getting strung out on G.

I used to do it a good bit, but it didn't bother me the way that opiates have.

Withdrawals from any gaba agonists such as GHB, alcohol or benzos can and has caused deaths.    That is the problem.

GHB is why my town, which used to have THE most kickass mardi gras parade, never will have a mardi gras parade again, ever

it is also the drug of choice of date-rapists. It definitely should be scheduled
