Socialist Stone Age

Cuba gets 100,000 barrels of oil free from Chavez and still has to plow their fields with oxen.  Meanwhile, the paradise's doctors keep defecting.

Apparently Cuba trades human flesh for oil.  Sometimes the flesh escapes its bonds.  Nice.

Actually I believe the plows they use were invented in the bronze, not the stone age, therefore things can't be that bad. I think it is great though that the American govt. is encouraging hundreds more foreign workers to come here and fill positions that could be done so by American workers. Yes, screw the American worker because their leaders are tools, then again so are ours.

Actually, that's not such a bad idea. It lessens the carbon footprint considerably, and when you still have small family farms instead of mega corporate grow operations, it makes even more sense.  I live in a very remote part of the US northwest, and the most successful logger around here uses Clydesdale horses to tug the logs.  While the other loggers are spending nearly everything they make buying truckloads of diesel fuel, driving hundreds of miles to get parts to repair their tuggers, buying tires, etc., he just keeps on working and making money.  The guy has a million dollar house on a mountainside, while the other loggers are in foreclosure on their trailers.  The horses even feed themselves in the meadows while he's eating his own lunch.

Yes, but what about the methane footprint?

All "footprints" aside, I still prefer smaller scale family farms, they are more diverse. Besides, over 80 percent of all farms on this planet are on 12 acers or less. Smaller farms connect people more close to their land. Their=possesion, if it is still possible to "own" anything anymore in this country.

Which gas is more detrimental to the planets ecosystem methane based?, or carbon dioxide?  They are both naturally occuing in nature. I thought trees and clorophlyll green plants sequester, and use carbondioxide anyway, would it not be benificial to plant growth around the whirrled earth.:earth::sun:

with regards to RR's example it would likely not be worse than carbon. In the Cuba example it's likely to be slightly worse, but have an added benefit of use in a manure cycle. Don't forget, the majority of cars there are about 50 years old, they probibly go through gas like pigs.

Oh and doctors always flee communist countries after they have undergone the expensive training. This is nothing new, many Canadians who were trained with public subsidies leave to high paying jobs in the US and Europe. Even in Africa, doctors migrate with their training to another country. If you're really serious about it, you should join the Dr.s Without Borders plan when you finish your medical training.

I get where your coming from BUT woudnt all those people be bad business man in the first place If they did not take into account those maintenance costs from the start.

But i agree. smaller more durable and independent companies have a better chance of surviving.
