Smoking Cigarettes for a week.
    #10819076 -

A close friend of mine is trying to quit smoking.  He always argues with me about how addicting they are, etc.  Long story short, I have to smoke cigarettes for a week, and stop with him.  Although trying the odd puff or two back in the day, it never did anything to me, and I chose to stick with the greener stuff.  Would just a week of this do any damage to me, and is it easier to quit sooner (a week in my case), rather than several years?

You're not going to get addicted to cigarettes in a week.

after a week, you will probably just be getting used to them.  i wouldnt worry about addiction after only a week.

yea, after about 3 months to a year, you'll be addicted.

i say 3-12 months because some people fall prey to addiction easier than others.

You'll be fine after a week, any damage it may cause your body would fix.

If you smoke like a regular smoker for a week you run the risk of addiction for sure.  Maybe you'll be fine, and you'll probably even stop after the week, but I don't see why you need to try and prove something.  It will prove nothing and you just run the risk of becoming addicted to an expensive, unhealthy habit that you didn't need before.
