I wasn't aware of that example you gave, where a swat team arrived at the scene of a bankrobbery, after the robber had fled, and then shot up the place.

 I wasn't even trying to be an ordianary bastard, let alone a cheeky one.

The swat scenario seems a little far fetched, although if something exactly like that happened I wouldn't be surprised.

I don't think the guy should have been fired, he defended his employer at great personal risk (without even using a gun!), you'd have to be pretty cold to can him after that.

Honestly, I don't even really feel all that strongly about the issue, I just disputed a couple of isolated comments that I disagreed with and kinda got drawn in.

really, how about a swat team raid on the wrong house, they fire
20 shots and hit nothing while the home owner fires 3 or 4 and
each one hits his target... of course they gave medals to the
swat team for such a heroic act

Of course, like I said, I wouldn't really be surprised if exactly that happened

I would fire that fucker in a instant. They tell them not stop the theifs for a reason.

If i was in a bank that was being robbed there is no fucking way in hell i would do anything to stop it. Someone could get hurt or killed.

Now if some girl was being assulted i would do my best to stop it.

Fuck banks anyways.

So we're sticking up for the banks now?

Didn't we bail them out for their faulty investments?

The math is super simple guys.  How much money do the banks hold in the tellers?  A couple hundred thousand maybe?  What is the banks financial liability if their guy is shot in result of his own actions?  Several million dollars.

They're banks for christ's sake, they don't do anything where the math hasn't justified their actions.  They got half the world's jews, most who are as good with math as I am.

Think about it.  This isn't a case of not letting the bank robber get away... some sort of moral fucking argument of not letting the bad guy triumph over the good forces of the world. The cops will take all the expense because that's their job and either catch the guy or they don't.  Meanwhile all of the money stolen is FDIC insured, so the bank loses 0 dollars in the process.  The world keeps spinning.

For this explanation it's important for people reading this to envision money as resources instead of a piece of paper that can be replaced. Resources of course can't be replaced... Insured money doesn't mean shit, except more oil for the machine that controls most aspects of OUR lives. The man demonstrated more guts than a lot of folks. I think he was also smart enough to know that he endangered lives as he admitted he knew why he was fired. It's hard for me to believe that the bank fired him for that reason. Banks know that stolen money can be "replaced". The alternative possible action of letting the robber possibly escape to rob and endanger more folks shows me the bank doesn't give a fuck about anything but they're goddamn liability.

I guess no one actually sees it but it doesnt matter either way,
someone could get hurt or killed whether you do something or
not, if you cross the street you could be hit by a bus so maybe
it's a bad idea to wake up in the mornings because with every
breath you take there's a 50/50 chance you'll be killed, I mean
seriously, who the hell figured they'd go into work one morning
and get hit by a fucking plane... make that 2+ planes

Of course he should have been fired.  If you were running a business - a bank  - and one of your employees risked his life (potential lawsuit) , the other customers lives (major potential lawsuits) and the life of the guy he was chasing (sadly a guaranteed lawsuit ) all over a few thousand dollars MAX of money that is insured, what would you do??  What would your policy be??? Would you want your tellers or clerks starting fights on your property??? That's why the policy is in place.

I also don't think risking your life for a couple thousand bucks makes you a hero.

I've always wondered why armored car drivers are armed.  Those guys make like 15 bucks an hour.  AND now they are expected to get in a gunfight for someone else's small bills and change???? Whats the point??  Be better off having everyone know they are unarmed but will call someone who is trained and compensated for keeping order.  You risk your life for $15 an hour you are an idiot.

We have not even to risk the adventure alone, for the heroes of all time have gone before us — the labyrinth is thoroughly known. We have only to follow the thread of the hero path, and where we had thought to find an abomination, we shall find a god; where we had thought to slay another, we shall slay ourselves; where we had thought to travel outward, we shall come to the center of our own existence. And where we had thought to be alone, we shall be with all the world.

this is why many civilians get shot in robbery attempts.good for him 2 help out,but they specificly told him not to interfear w/any robbery attempt.if the guy did have a gun he probably would have went wild when the teller challenged him and shot the place up.if the security guard does'nt jump in,its probably safe 2 assume u shouldnt either.so,yes i do belive he sould have been fired,as an example to others.

Yea...when someone talks shit to me for an hour and uses alot of profanity i tend to give them 0 stars for it...but i guess you think that has no bearing on this situation.Thank you for NOT giving me the same rights everyone else has in the voting system, but i honestly could'nt care less.FUCK YOU ALL!!!!!

Yes, YOU the customer lose, as I proved in my prior post.

You proved it? I guess I missed how you proved that losing federally insured money is losing anything.

Cribs notes version: Insurance company pays. Bank's insurance rates go up. Bank passes the cost onto YOU the customer. End result: YOU pay.

OR

Federal government is insurance company. Federal government loses. YOU the taxpayer pay. End result: YOU pay.

Sheesh, it's crazy how people act as if insurance companies just grow money on trees or something. As if it's all free. READ AN ECONOMICS BOOK FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE!

What about this: Someone gets injured/killed while the teller tries to stop an armed robber.  Insurance company pays.  Bank's insurance rate goes up.  Bank passes the cost onto YOU the customer. End result: YOU pay.

The guy went against policy and did something unnecessary.

Maybe it was a bit harsh to fire him for it though

your bank doesnt get robbed, one down the street does, it's now
a high crime area and guess what, insurance goes up and YOU PAY

your bank doesnt get robbed, 3 across town do, the insurance is
floated across to all banks just as certain cars have higher
rates and the banks  pass that on to you

no banks get robbed, the Board of directors need a better
vacation this year, rates for checking goes up yet again,
you still pay

fuck banks
