I'm watching the late night replay of the Cubs/Cardinals game with all the funny pitching business.

I still don't know why Wainwright was allowed to put his hand up like that.  Should have been called a DP, but as usual Dumb and Dumber went off on a ridiculous tangent for several minutes about whether he went too far out of the basepath, something he obviously didn't do.  Word to retardos, either he was trying to interfere and did or he wasn't.  I've seen guys go a lot further out than that and nothing called, but that hand thing.  Uh uh.  Reminds me of Reggie's great ass play in the World Series.  That DP should have been called as well.

I actually tried to watch the Derby and it was painful. I remember back in 1989 when Berman and his nicknames were cutting edge and his "back back back" stuff was fresh. He must own half of ESPN for them to allow him on air these days. His stuff was tired in 1998. So bad I didn't even notice Joe Morgan.

With that said, when are they going to stop slurping Jack Buck? Dude's been dead for 7 years. Acting like he cured cancer or some nonsense. Well, at least we have his brilliant son to fill the gap. :rolleyes:

Berman is beyond tedious calling every fucking homer as if it was some monumental event.  Did any of you ever see the reruns of the original Homer-run Derby?  They were the epitome of understatement and the announcer guy would interview the players between innings.  It was far beyond this Hollywood crap for class and entertainment value.

I bailed and went to watch "Wipeout" with my kids.

And I LOVED the old Home Run Derby's. I watched them every morning M-F on ESPN one summer. So smooth.

Early candidate for a "Morgan" goes to Dave Campbell who said Ichiro was a sleeper pick for the home run derby.  Career high in homers: 15.  Why does this happen to me?

It must be amazing to get to listen to a good announcer. The Braves announcers are fucking miserable and of course the FOX and ESPN announcers are terrible as well. I never get to listen to a well done game.
