Craigslist Jobs- I got one but how do I know if it's legit?

:confused: Does anyone have any advice?  I signed up for a job that sounds very good but I was told to sing something and I e-mailed the guy telling him to call me.

it's pretty sketchy actually because the website looks like total bullshit pattyfurniture.com- I called the number on the site and it didn't work- LOL

Not sure what I am going to say to the dude on the phone.

Any of you shroomies have experience with jobs from craigslist?  :sunny:

That website looks very sketchy. It's a cheap domain that's hosted by one of those "own your own website!" websites. If the guy is asking you to sing something...it sounds like a huge joke.

Misspellings in their testimonial quotes....looks pretty shady.

do everything from furniture to floor tiles and cabinetry, they
have customer testimonials from atlanta but are based out of seattle

I've gotten a few jobs from craigslist but that does sound shady as hell. 

You'll find something else, just keep looking.

I found a job on Craigslist once. It was a kickass gig working in the shipping department for an online sporting goods retailer. Laid back work, fun people, good pay, foosball. It was like hanging out most of the day. I e-mailed them my cover letter and resume, then followed up with another e-mail a few days later when I hadn't heard anything. Less than 15 minutes later I got a call, an interview, then the job.

Followups are key. If it sounds like a job you really want, chances are the other 20 people that applied really do as well. Sending a follow-up e-mail saying you are still interested in the job, thanking them for taking the time to look ever your resume, and asking for the opportunity to further discuss your qualifications for the position.

QFFT. I just made a followup call to my interviewer this morning. Low and behold I get a call from her an hour ago telling me I've landed the job.

So-  I gave this guy my address info when I first got his e-mail but afterward I told him not to send me anything but now I got this email after telling him I don't want to be part of this

Fraudulent check. The OP cashes it, returns the remainder to the assclown and by the time the bank processes it and finds out it's a bad check the assclown is gone and the OP is left holding the bag.

They ALWAYS want you to use western union or money gram. I dealed with about 10 different nigerians trying to jack me for a pair of bass cabs i was selling on there. Ive got like 3 different fake checks. I just tell them yeah its all good then when they send it after i get it i just tell them to fuck themselfs and enjoy my nice quality counterfeits as souvenirs lol.

Look in the header of the email, get the IP and do a IP location lookup. Almost always from nigeria haha.

Lol its funny cause i was offering them for like 250 each and when i knew it was a nigerian i was like, oh yeah, well actually i think they should go for 2000 each now, i realized they're worth a lot more than i thought. And they always reply with shitty english and are like, oh yeah i think thats a good idea that you price them at 2000, well ile give you that plus a couple hundred for your troubles.

Such, BULLSHIT!. Email them back and tell them you hope they get their fingers cut off for what they're doing lol.

You dont think it can hurt you. I almost started falling for the first one, i always had a feeling about him, but wasnt going to do anything stupid unless i had my money IN HAND! Lol, good thing it never got to that point before i traced him otherwise i may have been fooled. And that would fuckin SUCK! Id be out some cabs, and like 2000 dollars lol.
