Emailing a resume (quick poll)
    #10413466 -

I'm sending out hundreds of emails to job listings, hoping that the shotgun technique will land me a good gig.  I have my resume formatted in both Word and PDF.  My question is if the job listing doesn't specify a format, should I attach the Word or PDF version in my email?
In which format should I send my resume?
You may choose only one

Yeah that's what I've been sending.  It's surprising how many people don't have Word 2007.

pdf would ensure that the resume gets to the employer in the style/format in which you want it to appear.

I wouldnt trust that the resume in .doc format will appear on the employer's computer screen the same as it does yours.

They migt instantly toss your resume if tons of people are applying and your resume is too difficult to read due to formatting error.

Good call, I was pondering that same thought.  PDF also seems more professional to me.

stal, but pdf.

you should only send a word document if people are collaborative editing, and even then, you should use an open-source format.

Attach it as a pdf, but also append a plain-text version to the end of the body of your email.

You could also save it as a read-only file in word 2003.
