And yes you can "OD" on water. Its called water intoxication, you get so much water in your system your blood becomes too diluted. Usually happens to people on some sort of drug, like ecstacy, cause its really hard to drink that much water without something making you think your so thirsty.

If you read my post, thats what I said. You run out of electrolytes.

Oh right, i thought you were just talking about dehydrated people who need to drink small amounts of water first and build up to larger amounts. Same cause i think, just easier for it to happen to a dehydrated person.

You can OD on water.  It is known as water intoxication and leads to hyponatremia.  If left untreated, you can die from it.  When people die from MDMA, more often than not, the actual cause of death is water intoxication and hyponatremia.

You can also OD on some forms of Flintstones vitamins.  Flintstones Complete and Flintstones Plus Iron both contain iron.  Iron is not excreted from the body, but it is consumed to build skin, hair, fingernails and other detritus.  Too much iron harms the liver and heart and can easily cause death.  Iron overdose is the leading cause of fatal poisoning in children under six.
