On finding treasures

Finding true treasures is not an easy task. For true treasures are hidden in places where you do not expect to find anything of great value.

True treasures are hidden under your feet. In your pockets. On the street, on the road to work. Seen but unseen. Found but unfound.

Stop looking and start to see that what you have been craving is already here. Look through the dusty exterior and see through, inside. Here you will find so much value that forever you will be surprised.

Actually I found a treasure today which I should have found earlier. But I am very happy I've found it nonetheless. She is more like me than I could have dreamed. And more different than I could have wished.

I love this thread!  Finding treasures is one of my most favorite things to do. 

I especially love discovering Natural Treasures, like a very special rock or twig in the woods that calls out to me.

Yes yes, couldn't agree more. Although I don't think finding treasures has to be limited to nature.
When I am strolling through the city there are also many treasures to be found. Some big, some small.

I enjoy looking at something twice and seeing it for what it really is. Things that seemed ugly at first may turn into the most beautiful things. Can be a building a tree a rock or a girl...

That's true!  Once I was adventuring in a forest and I came across a metal piece of trash.  It was a rectangle of rusted steel the size of my hand and had delicate spirals on the inside of it.  I don't know, maybe it was an old panel to a camper or something.  But in my current state of mind, it became a gateway to another dimension...all I had to do was open it. 

So I kept the Gate and it's sitting on my dresser right now.  I play with it sometimes, to bring back that state I found myself in when the treasure was discovered.

other than that, treasure IS everywhere.

me and my friend found a circular thing about the size of duct tape roll in the foggy green woods while tripping (:omgawesome: trip) and it looked like bark/tree and it had little green leafs growing out of it.

"what is this?"
"i have no idea, let me see.... hmm... what is this?"
"not sure, let me see.... dude WHAT IS THIS?"
"hmm i dont know, let me see."


next day we realized it was a roll of duct tape that was left oustide for YEARS.

greatest find of the night.



another time tripping... we found a kitten.
