testing teenagers for mental illness like depression and trying to provide help isn't such a bad idea, as long as their solution for every case isn't just prescribing lots of antidepressants

fuck that. just smoke some pot. dont get totally fucked up just a nice buzz, that always cheers me up. it completely cured my friend of depression after his parents tough tough divorce and this girl totally fucked with him and mentally ruined his view on girls, he aint gay but has no trust for girls. shes a hoe

I find it funny though that the one time I went to the doctor for the specific purpose of being put on an ADD/ADHD ( i was like 18 or 19) med like Adderall I was turned down.  They wanted my money, I wanted my adderall, what's the problem?

actually unretarded you mentioned we are all fat and lazy too but weight gain and apathy are side effects of some antidepressants :lol:

perhaps its the antidepressants causing it all, a viscious circle maybe, feel depressed take antidepressants get fat n' lazy = feel more depressed = more antidepressants :strokebeard:

fuck yeah. so many people mix pills and drink and get all fucked up and die and shit. do you read some  of the side effects of the shit the government says is good for us? half the stuff can be cured by buds/hemp. IMO from what i have read and testimonies from people.

I have been to the doctor 3 times for intense stomach pain ,the first time they gave me reglan.....its for nausea...the second time they gave me prilosec.....for acid reflux....the third time they gave me high cholestrol medicine......went to the emergency room and they scheduled tests and gave me some vicoden for the pain.....:nonono:

The reglan almost caused heart failure.....
The prilosec did nothing and was 180 dollars for 30 pills.
and the side effects of the cholesterol medicine was intense stomach cramps....

haha.. I had a similar experience in a different field when I was a teenager... the scary one called psychiatry.
They thought I was depressed so they put me on zoloft, that didn't work so they did paxil, nope.. prozac.. fuck no.
Oh, you must have psychoaffective disorder, have some zyprexa, depakote, neurontin.. they were just looking for excuses to put me on shit.
Turned out I was just a normal fucked up depressed teenager with repressed emotions from a messed up childhood with bad parents.
I said fuck you all and quit taking all their drugs and listening to their bullshit.
Took some deep digging in myself, some bonding with people, and maybe some mind-expanding hallucinogenic experiences and blammo.. cured.

All the drugs did was fuck with my mental state..
the paxil plastered a fake smile on my face and I couldn't bust a nut, perfect for a 15 year old. Zyprexa had me all kinds of fucked up.
All the drugs did was mask the symptoms and cause worse ones and totally fuck with my body chemistry.

Durrrrrr.. hey you're mad and have unresolved emotions take this pill for the rest of your life they are only $10 each it will fix your problem.

The problem is not all of us believe in the paradigm of human behavioral classification as mental illness. Watch the BBC shorts on the birth of psychiatry on youtube if you aren't familiar with the more mainstream counter-psychiatry view (borrowed from BBC century of the self documentaries or something similar).

I for one am very glad to have chosen a different belief system than depression as a treatable condition. I believe in the individual right to use whatever drugs they choose and the individual ability to understand and improve the mind. I was easily diagnosable with depression for a good decade while I unknowingly accepted the dogma, but choosing the route of self awareness and acceptance (work, not an excuse or a fix) finally ended up alleviating the majority of the depressed feelings. :shrug:

all teen shouldent be tested for depression. all teens have depression if you want to call it that.  nothing is great when your a teen everyones parents are cooler and everyone has sweeter shit.  most teens get over it the rest should.
