You'd goto lost and found and ask for a bag of dope and money if you lost it?

I suppose it depends on the festival and what the police are like there but if this was in America I'd expect to be arrested or that the workers had taken the weed and money out the bag first.

Think about this realisticly, if the guy doesn't come back and theres no way to identify the owner then someone is going to take that bag - it may as well be you if you find it.

I've found plenty of groundscores.. they are generally just that.. walking around and find a bag of pills laying in the middle of a trail or something.
Then you have festivals and the common areas where people drop shit all the time, after they leave you can find all kinds of stuff.
I've found acid, E, weed, money, tents.. all kinds of shit after the festival.. people will drop or leave behind.
But say you walk into that area during the fest and 'find' a backpack with people standing all around.. it totally depends on the context.
I mean sure you could groundscore a backpack like that.. that someone just happened to lose and then gave up on, but it's not as likely as finding a bag...
Chances are dude was pissed cause someone grabbed his bag.
I had a backpack stolen from me like that before, I was actually laying down in a field with the bag laying about 1 inch from my face, someone "groundscored" it when I fell asleep.. I was super fucking pissed.
It had my digital camera with pictures of my GF and me in it who I had just visited after not seeing for a year. My birth certificate, passport, and some clothes and money and some other shit.. he must have been happy. :thumbdown:

Allow me to tell the actual story of what happened:

I was wandering around with two of my good buddies VERY late at night (4, maybe 5 a.m) after the Phil & Friends set had been over for a good hour or two. I will admit that we were looking for shit on the ground, however we didn't really think we'd find anything so we headed back to our tents. Walking along the sidewalk where the beach/rocky area is, I looked down and noticed an open backpack that looked like it had been ditched (It was on the beach getting hit with watery tides every so often). So the curious folk we are, we decided to look through it, because nobody was around in sight at all. Nobody was swimming in the water, or in the immediate vicinity, so we assumed it was a ditched bag. Upon further inspection we found all of the contents I previously mentioned, and had ourselves a sizeable smokedown afterwards. Used the money for food and gas to get home the next night.


There were no wallets, ID's, cell phones or phone numbers inside this case. And the common sense that I had told me that such a sketchy package would obviously never be claimed by anybody but an idiot at lost and found. Not to mention I'd feel pretty sketchy carrying it over there (there were cops all over that particular area, probably for the same reason).


Having said that, I hope a few of you can get off your high horses, and understand that this was not the worst thing that happened all weekend. In fact my friend's brother had gotten jumped the previous night by a group of big guys and mugged for everything he had on him. I feel ridiculous having needed to explain myself in such a manner, but I hope that it's a little easier to understand now maybe? I was never trying to look cool or anything silly like that. I was simply trying to invoke a conversation of comparison. Thank you, and peace. Hold tight onto your belongings and don't be a dumbass and leave your bags somewhere. I think we all learned that lesson as children.

:shrug: Sounds legit to me. I had my suspicions, but that's a quality groundscore.

I've lost all kinds of shit at festivals.. it always sucks. But then you think you might make someones night.
Then it's awesome when you find something.. so it balances out :laugh:

I used to do cleanup at fests so I've found all kinds of shit..
Some of the more noteworthy groundscores:

- a ten strip of geltabs, a half full vial
- ounces of headies.. usually quarters or eighths at a time or so. Weed is probably the most common thing I find.. 
- morphine
- a baggy with 15 molly capsules
- a petzl headlamp
- a nice tent someone abandoned, thats pretty common too..
- glass bowls, found a bunch over the years..
- money. You look you'll find a ten or twenty spot eventually.
- shoes/boots/sandals

People drop/leave behind all kinds of shit. Cleaning up after fests can be like christmas sometimes

I lost an ounce once but I don't consider whoever found it to be a thief - they were just lucky!  Its my fault for walking around off my face with an ounce in my pocket and not noticing it fall out.  Thats life.

Once I hid an 8th and my friend took it and smoked it on purpose - now that I do consider theft.  He was not lucky.  He plotted to rob his friend.  He lost my good friendship and got a slap for his actions though.  It all balances out :sun:

I don't consider anyone "finding" anything to be a thief.. just lucky. If you lose it, that's on you.
Some people are sketchy with their definition of "finding" something though.... like hey dude I found this in your pockets.. sweet score!
