i was stoked when all along the watch tower came on though.

and yeah, a lot of the movie was unnecessary in my eyes, and not all of the characters were explained fully, did they have powers or what? i thought the general point was lame as well, i never read the comic so maybe im just missing something.

they showed that blue guys dick too much.  I liked how society got all fucked up though. I was high on a firecracker at the movie, saw on IMax. thought some of the visuals were cool, but it did drag on a bit. a lot of things pissed me off about the movie, but it was ok I guess

I can see why you hate it. I personally enjoyed some of the grittiness and action scenes, but a lot of things about the movie fail. could have been much better.  also too many repeat moments, I guess the movie did suck now that I think about it. seeing any Imax high is always cool I guess

Watchmen had superb CGI and an excellent sense of good cinematography.  Every scene was well-put together and tremendously artistic, but the plot after the first half was beyond abysmal.  Melodrama, the presence of total incongruities, and general boredom by the two hour mark made this movie all-round disappointing.

I agree with this.  The beginning of the movie was really promising but it just turned into a melodrama with nothing really going on.  I think if this movie had only been the first hour, it would be a way better movie.
