online orders

I've been making plenty of online orders without any problems but I suddenly stumbled appon this mesage from my browser when I began to check-out:

The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority.
The security certificate presented by this website has expired or is not yet valid.
The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address.

Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server.

is this serious? should I give my mc card # to a website that doesn't have a proper security certificate?

anytime there is a security problem it is safer not to give any card#'s find another place to order. If you need to know of any let me.
