Anyone who says Jack is honestly dead wrong. Its the only case where opinions cease to exist.

NICHOLSON IS PLAYING NICHOLSON NOT THE JOKER.

As a comic fan I do not even see how Nicholson's performance can be taken seriously. Ledger did a beast job and made the Joker out to be what he really is, a lunatic. Nicholson put facepaint on himself...

Heath built on the foundation Nicholson created for the joker.  Sure, Ledger reached new heights with that role, but he was able to get that high by bouncing off the "trampoline" that was Nicholson's performance

I never read the comic series
I can sypmathize with this, though.


I watched the Nicholson movie with being
aware of the source material, so I thought
the performance was good with in it own realm
of context.

When I compare Ledger's to Nicholson's, still without being a reader of the comic, this is
when I can tell Nicholson's performance was
mostly inspired by himself.

I also met numerous comic fans who can't stand
the first one because of factors like this (Mike Nelson of MST3K is guilty of this)

I am a fan of dovetailing creative works together
to improve form and consistency, however despite
The Original Batman movie being poor to source,
it is rich in its own right, being quite the
gem sometimes.

No. In fact Ledger spent a few weeks just trying to not sound like Nicholson, what Ledger created is a child of his own. Nicholson acts like this in every movie, how is that like the Joker in anyway?

To be honest I studied acting and the goal was to always be yourself, if Nicholson fell into the role and it suited him who's to say its his fault and no 50's era joker is ever going to make the site of nicolson with any weapon much less a potatoe launcher less menacing.

Nicholson is horror Heath is just playing games.

um...the Joker was a comic character.

I'd bet that no one here ever read the Batman comic with the Joker in it.

Jack did a better job of portraying the comic book Joker

Jack Nicholson's joker is a classic. But id have to say heath ledgers joker is far more sadistic, making him a better joker imo.

and as for the movies, Michael Keaton was the best Batman imo.  I mean, aside from West of course.  But for the movies, yea.  and i mean, Kim Basinger looked real good in that movie too!  haha

as a matter of fact your right i had a little dialogue goin but yea now that i think about it, had to kind of break it down for a sec lol
