Cops fear DMT as new club drug {ny-nj}

SECAUCUS - A package of a little known hallucinogen was seized by state troopers last week, fueling fears that "DMT" is about to become a popular club drug in the area, officials said.

"The seizure of DMT is a warning shot across our bow," said State Police Colonel Rick Fuentes Thursday of the 11/2 pounds of Dimethyltryptamine seized.

"This dangerous hallucinogenic has been flying under the radar since the psychedelic '60s, but seems poised to break out as a popular club drug in the New Jersey and New York region," he said.

Discovery of the $127,000 worth of DMT was made after Yusuf Samatar, 33, of Newark, was pulled over on the New Jersey Turnpike in Secaucus at 4 a.m. on Jan. 10 and arrested on the charge of driving while intoxicated, officials said.

A search revealed the bag of brown powder that was determined to be DMT, officials said.

Samatar was also charged with drug possession with intent to distribute, officials said. His bail was set at $150,000 cash only, which he posted, officials said.

Cops aren't clueless, they just know there is no addiction potential so their trying to demonize it like Cannabis. I hope some dirty cop stole some and smokes some of that and falls off his rocker.

They honestly don't conduct the slightest bit of research before publishing something like that? Someone should like.. E-mail that retarded fucking publication.

DMT as a club drug is essentially impossible.. If you do a breakthrough dose of it you wouldn't even be aware you were at a club.

Calling it a club drug only because its a hallucinogen.  They know its not dangerous or addictive so they will make up false accusations about it to scare the public into attaching a negative stigma to it, just like they did with LSD in the 60's

It'd be interesting to see what kind of club would have people doing DMT all over the place. I'd like to see one of those shows where they take hidden cameras into raves or whatever for that.

To the contrary, DMT comes in many forms. A friend of mine once had some brown gummy stuff. I thought it looked funny but it was definitely DMT, and not very shabby DMT at that.
