There's a pretty big difference between weed preventing Alzheimer's and there being a chance that weed helps prevent Alzheimer's.

Doesn't seem like much of a stretch to me. I mean weed has obviously opposite effects during the duration of its effects, but it seems like it might actually encourage the brain to work more in order to counteract them - roughly speaking, I had periods of use that felt very much so. Sudden halts to regular smoking made my might rush like i was on stimulants.

Huh. Alzheimer's runs in my family and my mom is worried she might develop it sometime in the future. I just sent her the article. Should be interesting to see her reply, she's never smoked pot in her life.

I told her she should load up the bong and take a few rips :lol:

Cigarettes have been known to reduce the risk of Parkinson's disease for a long time. Doesn't mean you should start smoking cigarettes though.

There's quite a few biologists/bio majors on these boards. Zouden and I do some neruoscience stuff, although I've been doing a lot less work in the lab lately... My lab supervisor is queen bitch.
