Peeling Oranges

I always battle to get all the white peel off of the fruit. I have some dank oranges, and I want to eat them I just took a bar, but I can't fucking get it right.

Tips...

I just cut the orange up into wedges.  Then with a knife, I cut the rind off each wedge individually.  Or I just bite into the wedge and use the rind to hold onto while I'm eating the goods.

I know but it tastes better without it...Or the texture is better not really the taste.

I cut the top and bottom of the orange off along its latitudes, then i circle the orange with the knife cutting 4-5 vertical lines.  Then peel off these 5 sections, and you have a completely peeled, circular orange with no white stuff on :smile:

I think the riper the orange is, the easier the white layer comes off when you feel it.

I always roll the orange around on the counter before I peel it. I'm not really sure what it does though.

Yup like the others, I just cut it. I cut it down the equator and then each half into thirds. I used to work this venue at Earthdance in northern Cali and I came in tripping so they had me cut oranges, I can cut an orange damn well now!

I'll actually eat half of the peel sometimes. Lots of good stuff for your body in the peel. Tastes odd, but you get used to it.

sometimes I eat the peels as well.
I also do this with lemons.

limes have gross peels though.

I just cut the orange in half, then I dig my thumbs on either side of each half to pull the peel away. The wedges come away from each other naturally ~

Yeah it tastes funky but the amounts of antioxidants are high in peels. If you mix a small nibble of peel with the fruit you won't even notice it aside from texture.

Just like if you juice fruits throw like 25% of the peels in there too!

When I peal an orange I get a knife and cut the skin just deep enough to go through it. I cut 1/4 sections. It's so much easier to peel it that way. A lot of the white stuff is easy to remove that way too.
